Woodlawn Youth Ministry

It sure has been a busy few weeks here in the Woodlawn family!  The area wide youth devotional that we hosted last Sunday was a huge success, and the plans for Saturday’s cookout are being finalized as I write this.  This church body is in a unique position to minister to the communities that surround us, and we should thank the men and women who are taking the lead in this ministry effort.

Be sure to seek out our deacons and their families this week to tell them what a great job they have been doing as they have been leading and planning the ministries that make this church hum with activity.

Speaking of leading and planning, Jeff Ronquillo has been planning our Wednesday night devotionals the past few weeks and has been doing a superb job.  If you would like to become more involved with our Wednesday night devotional through leading singing, leading prayers or reading scripture, feel free to tell Jeff of your interest.  It is such a pleasure to see all the men of the congregation leading and participating in our worship times.

Seek out chances to serve this week as you participate in the life of Christ with your brothers and sisters here at Woodlawn.

May your week be blessed by the Father,
Brad Sullivan

THIS HAS BEEN DECLARED
JOHN McCOWAN WEEK!

Our brother John McCowan will be moving on Oct. 29.  Until then, we can be of service and an encouragement to him as he really needs our help.  The Home Health Care people called to say that he is a little depressed and doesn’t eat when he’s there alone, but does better when there’s someone to eat with him and visit a bit.

Would you be willing to go to his house at a mealtime to visit and eat with him (maybe even take something)?  Or just make a short visit during the day?

If you can help with this ministry please sign your name and phone number on the list in the foyer and someone will call you with necessary instructions before you go.  Also you may call Mike Bailey in the office.

He and Bobbie have been such a blessing to this church, and we want to bless him before he moves away from us!

THANK YOU NOTES

Dear Church family,
We are missing you.  We hope to be back soon.  Thanks so much for the calls, visits and cards we enjoyed having from everyone.
Love,
Jeff and Neva Chancey

Woodlawn Congregation,
We just wanted to say thank you for all the thoughtful cards, visits, prayers and food that you all showered us with.  We are so excited that our angel has arrived and can’t wait to share him with you.
Lots of Love,
Brian, Enid and Jacob Schlotzhauer

Adolpho Gonzalez called to thank us for the flowers he received in the hospital.  He really misses coming to services and would like to have company from church members.  He is still undergoing testing for internal bleeding.
