Woodlawn Children's Ministry

In our class on Wednesday night we are talking about Creation.  The kids do not realize the miracle of Creation, but we can see it in their faces.  We saw it during our program on Wednesday night.  Their voices sounded like a choir of angels to us.  We are so proud of our kids, and we are so thankful we have a chance to touch their lives.

Each child is growing spiritually every time they come.  They are learning songs from our hymn books and learning to pray.  It is so exciting to see them each week and realize God has blessed Woodlawn with these little children.  God answers our prayers in ways we cannot imagine.

We tell our children that prayer is how we talk to God.  Prayer is so powerful that we cannot envision how effective it can be.  We covet your prayers for our kids, for their families, and the continued growth of Woodlawn through this ministry.

We have a new opportunity for possible contacts.  We are having the Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 16th.  We are preparing fun activities that are based on stories from the Bible.  We have sent out cards to neighborhood children, and we hope you will invite your neighbors, too.  We will have flyers in the foyer if there are children you wish to personally invite.  We could also use some volunteers to help with our door to door “greet and treat.”

We hope this ministry will continue to grow so we can reach out to our community through the children.  Pray for us, our kids, their families and our family at Woodlawn.  God is blessing these wonderful additions to our family, and Woodlawn will grow with His help.

In him for the children,
Karen and Kathy

Dear Christian Friends,
Thanks so much for your loving kindness, the beautiful pot plant, food, cards and phone calls - most of all, for your prayers.  I still need your prayers even though I am doing better with God’s help.  I love you and pray God will bless all of you.

Dear Woodlawn brothers and sisters,
We appreciate your concern, your prayers and cards.  I’m improving a little each day—looks like it’s going to be a lot of therapy.  Thank each and every one for caring.
Love you all, Gary Sanders

Woodlawn Church of Christ,
Thank you for your love and fellowship during Jean’s illness and after her passing.  Your kind thoughts, prayers, and caring acts of kindness gave my family and me great strength and comfort.  I am confident that continued faithfulness to God will enable each of us to see Jean again in heaven with the Lord, our Savior.  Lastly, thank you for your continued prayers and support as I move forward into the next phase of my life here on earth.

Jim Clark, Director

For he himself is our peace, who had made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations.

His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.

He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

- Ephesians 2:14-18
