Announcements

Congratulations to Buddy and Martha Lee Hancock who have new twin grandchildren, their 17th & 18th.  They were born last week to Sammy and Meredith Hancock in Irving, Texas.

PRAISE GOD!  Christine Glass' nephew was baptized Thursday.  Please take time to write him a note or send a congratulatory card and welcome him to the family of God: Casey McCormick, SO#80693, Taylor County Jail, 910 S. 27th, Abilene, TX 79602.  He has been studying with Dwayne Hilty and Stan Burge from Baker Heights.  Actually were eight men total baptized there Thursday.

Glenda Garner, 676-2845, would like for you to call her if you can help a couple days a week with a 5 month old baby beginning in August when school starts.

Beginning next Sunday and for the remainder of August, we will be collecting Tall Kitchen Bags for the benefit of the Medina Children's Home.  Their truck will be here to receive our gift the week of Sept. 7.  Just leave your kitchen bags in the box provided in the foyer.

The Christian Service Center is still looking for people to volunteer on an hourly basis to assist in the Bibles and Blue Jeans program between now and the time school starts.  When you call, they will tell you what time slots are open and give you a choice of when to work.  This is the 37th year for Operation Blue Jeans.  Last year the Center was able to help 1,470 children with clothing and/or school supplies.  Please consider giving some time to this worthwhile cause.  Contact Cheryl Alexander or Jim Clark at 673-7531.

Let's all remember to enjoy Dwayne, Julie and Riley Hilty's presence with us this month.  They will be leaving at the end of August and the 27th will be their last Sunday to worship as a family with the Woodlawn congregation.
