Congratulations to Our College Grads!
There is a story in scripture that always gives me a sense of hope and is especially meaningful in terms of graduation. It appears in Luke 7 and gives us a glimpse at a doubting John the Baptist who has given his life to preparing the way for the Messiah and now sits in a prison cell for his faith. After John's disciples ask Jesus if he really is the Messiah, Jesus heals the hurting around him as a testimony to his identity. The amazing part, however, comes next as Jesus declares that "there is no one greater than John" (7:28). John has just doubted Jesus' very identity, and yet he is still declared to be the greatest in Jesus' book.
I would like to speak to our graduates for a moment (you can read on if you wish). If there is one thing that I could encourage you to do, it would be this: Give yourself permission to make mistakes. John the Baptist did, and yet he was still counted as a man of remarkable faithfulness. There will be times when life throws you a curveball and you'll be tempted to doubt your purpose in life. Just remember that John did and, in the midst of his wonder, he still turned to Jesus for answers and meaning.
I dare you to dream God-sized dreams and, even more, to learn from the times when you stumble or fail.
Yours for Him,
Dwayne

THANK YOU NOTES
Dear church family,
What a rich and rewarding fellowship you have at Woodlawn Church of Christ! I am so glad that my mother, Berniece Adams, was able to attend as long as she did. She truly loved the people at Woodlawn. Her family and I are eternally grateful for your cards, donations, and food which was served prior to the service. Many thanks to all who visited her the last few years. It was always a joyous day when she had a visitor from church or received the bulletin and weekly cards from the Ladies Bible Class. You surely are an inspiration to all. God bless you and keep you!
Sincerely, Lorene Mall
Medina Children's Home sent letters of thanks for both the juice we recently provided and the quarterly support which is part of our budget.

Summer Mission Effort
Charles Stelding will leave Monday for Leipzig, Germany where he will assist the small house church there to become better established in that city. He will be working with the two missionaries Dwane Perry and Todd Beard. Charles worked with this church last summer and will continue with the follow-up with people he contacted last summer through the "Let's Start Talking" program.
This year Woodlawn members Jennifer and Ashley Francis will work with Charles at the Leipzig church under the direction of the missionaries. They will leave May 17 and spend six weeks reading the Gospel of Luke with people who want to improve their English skills. Please pray for Charles, Ashley and Jennifer as they present Jesus - to some people for the first time.
