Let's Go To Athens
Travel methods have changed from biblical days.  No donkeys, no sailing ships, not as much walking.  Yet, travel, however it is done, brings us face to face with new and strange places and ways of thinking.

When Paul arrived in Athens he went to the cultural center of his world.  There he saw a paradox.  He saw culture at its height, at its most glorious.  Yet, the spiritual condition was anything but glorious; it was darkness.

Paul walked around and observed their strange ways and found, to his surprise, an opportunity to share the gospel.  It was in the form of an altar to an "unknown god."  What a strange sight.  Paul praised what he could and pointed them to God and Jesus Christ.

May we learn the lesson of Athens.  We don't have to go too far to find people who do not know God.  We, like Paul, should welcome everyone.  Praise what you can and point them to Jesus.

THANK YOU NOTES

Dear Friends at Woodlawn,

Thank you for your willingness to help the Women for ACU with our pie sale at Lectureship.  We needed the help of many people for a successful pie sale, and everyone came through in a wonderful way.  We have added $4,148 to WACU's endowed scholarship fund with all the baking, serving, selling and donations made during Lectureship, and this will enable us to help some future students at ACU.

Thanks again.

April to be a Month of Focused Prayer
Hopefully, by now you have heard of and signed-up for the 24-Hour Prayer Vigil from April 2-3.  The Prayer Vigil will actually kick-off what we envision as a month of focused prayer here at Woodlawn during April.  Next Sunday, a prayer focus sheet will be included in the bulletin to help you and your families pray together for specific areas of Woodlawn's ministry.  Our prayer is that every member will join in to make April a month focused on God's guiding hand through prayer.

24-Hour Prayer Vigil
"The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective" (James 5:16).  Imagine how powerful the prayer of an entire church body is!  The opportunity to join together in continuous prayer is once again here at Woodlawn.  This year's 24-Hour Prayer Vigil will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 2 and go until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 3, and will kick off an entire month focused on prayer here at Woodlawn.  How can you participate and get involved?  Simply sign-up for a 15-minute prayer slot (or more if you're feeling adventurous) in the foyer and come to the church at your designated prayer time.  In the past, there always seems to be a few blanks open, so this year, we are counting on the congregation to step up and fill every single prayer slot!  Please, don't miss out on this opportunity to join together as a body as we "pray without ceasing."
