A Child's Viewpoint
One day a six year old girl was sitting listening to her teacher explaining evolution to the class. The teacher asked a little boy, "Tommy do you see the trees and the grass outside?"
"Yes," said Tommy.
"Go to the window and see if you can see the sky."
Tommy went to the window, looked and said, "Yes, I see the sky."
The teacher asked, "Do you see God outside?"
Tommy looked again and replied, "No."
The teacher explained, "That's my point. We can't see God because he isn't there. He does not exist."
The six year old girl spoke up and asked Tommy, "Do you see the trees and grass?"
"Yes," said Tommy.
The girl said, "Do you see the teacher?"
Tommy replied yes. She asked, "Do you see the teacher's brain?"
"No," answered Tommy.
The girl continued, "According to what our teacher taught us today, she doesn't have one!!!"
Children have a wonderful perspective. What we believe is a complex issue can be reduced to simplicity by a child's point of view. Woodlawn's family is a big influence in the lives of our children. They are proud to call Woodlawn their church. Your love and support will help them grow and share their love of Christ with others.
Thank you,
Karen, Kathy, and your Kids

THANK YOU NOTES
Dear Woodlawn Family,
Thank you for all the love and support you gave me after Dale passed away. I am so blessed to have my church family, my Christian Village family and my biological family as well as my extended family. Thanks to all of you, but especially to Sonny and Bill for helping with the service and to John and all the singers. There weren't any green beans for the meal in the fellowship hall because Charlene didn't call me to bring them. Thanks to all of you who did bring food.
Love in HIM, Beth Tiller
Dear Woodlawn brethren,
I want to thank you all for the support you have given me through the illness and death of my brother, Dean Miller. Your prayers have been a comfort, as well as cards and other expressions of sympathy. Thank you so much for being my family!
Your sister in Him, Elaine Polk
Thank you so much for all the beautiful cards you have sent. I am feeling better and getting stronger each day. Your prayers on my behalf are being answered. Thanks for your concern and love.
Wylene Norman
Woodlawn Church of Christ,
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during our difficult time. The plant received was beautiful.
The Carlos Garcia Family
Dear Woodlawn,
Thanks to each of you for the Bible and going-away party. You each mean so much to our family and Woodlawn will always be home. Kinney uses the Bible for his "preaching Bible" because it means so much.
Love, The Kinney Mabry Family
A big thanks for all the prayers, calls and emails concerning the election. I appreciate you love and support.

24-Hour Prayer Vigil
"The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective" (James 5:16). Imagine how powerful the prayer of an entire church body is! The opportunity to join together in continuous prayer is once again here at Woodlawn. This year's 24-Hour Prayer Vigil will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 2 and go until 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 3, and will kick off an entire month focused on prayer here at Woodlawn. How can you participate and get involved? Simply sign-up for a 15-minute prayer slot (or more if you're feeling adventurous) in the foyer and come to the church at your designated prayer time. In the past, there always seems to be a few blanks open, so this year, we are counting on the congregation to step up and fill every single prayer slot! Please, don't miss out on this opportunity to join together as a body as we "pray without ceasing."
