WOODLAWN YOUTH MINISTRY

Well, this is certainly a busy time in the life of Woodlawn's Youth Group!  Along with school and all its responsibilities, the youth of this church are gearing up for a very busy spring.  God has blessed our classes with many visitors and we have enjoyed learning about the Gospel of John on Wednesday nights.  On Sunday mornings we are continuing our textual study on the key figures of the Old Testament.

Our Sunday nights are also full of activity as we prepare for LTC (Leadership Training for Christ) in April.  Most of the teenagers in the church are looking forward to being a part of this incredible event.  LTC is a program that encourages young people to become more active in the life of the church by training them to use their talents to serve the congregation.  Some of the events we are training for include scripture reading, song leading, Bible class teaching, and even puppets!  Take the time to ask some of the teenagers what they are involved in for LTC.

Remember that this Tuesday night we are having a WYG devotional at the house of Amy Watkins.  Be sure to congratulate Tyler Sparks on taking first place at the recent Bible Bowl competition.  Also be sure to ask Aaron Sparks about his recent performance in A-High's presentation of "The Music Man."  The entire play was incredible.  It was a sight to behold!

May God bless you today,
Brad

THANK YOU NOTES

Dear Friends,
I have been so blessed with all the visitors from Woodlawn who came by to wish me well.  The ivy is really growing.  Thanks!  The prayers for me have been really appreciated and I am home taking my pills like a good girl.  I'll be fine in no time.  Thanks for all you have done.
In Christian Love,
Ina Bowlin

Many have written thanking the Wednesday morning Ladies' Class for the Valentine packages delivered last week.  This class does several projects during the year to cheer the shut-ins and nursing home members of our fellowship.

Kudos to Martha Lee Hancock for her presentation at the recent Saturday ladies program and lunch.  We appreciate the great tips and ideas you shared!
THANKS!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

ACU Lectureship program booklets are available in the foyer.  The elders encourage you to take advantage of day-time classes that you find interesting and also the evening lectures, if possible.  A complete schedule along with other information is also available online at http://www.acu.edu/events/lectureship.html.

Our schedule of services will vary little.  There will be sufficient time after the Sunday 5 p.m. assembly to get to campus to enjoy the opening lecture.  For those who do not wish to attend the final lecture on Wednesday evening, there will be a well-planned devotional here at 7 p.m. and regular classes will resume next week.

Be aware that several activities have been canceled for this week only.  These include Monday morning Prayer & Share Time, Monday Night for the Master, Life Group Bible Study at Hilty's home on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning Ladies' Bible Class.

IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN!
During the month of March we will be collecting juice in support of the Medina Children's Home.  They have asked for apple grape juice this time (need 200 bottles).  It can be any brand, any quantity and in any kind of container.  Please bring your gifts for these orphans and leave them in boxes which will be provided in the foyer.  The truck from the home will be here to collect during the first week of April.

FIFTH SUNDAY SUPPER 'N SONG
Please plan for food and singing in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, February 29.  Bring your favorite Finger Foods, i.e. sandwiches, chips & dips, raw veggies, finger desserts.  (The 5 p.m. worship assembly will take place in the Fellowship Hall rather than the auditorium.)

Attention Ladies
The memory verse to accompany the lesson for Wednesday morning Bible class on March 3 is Joshua 1:9: "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous.  Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."
