WOODLAWN YOUTH MINISTRY

I have always loved the beginning chapters of Acts where the early church is described.  The joy and love that these men and women of God must have felt when they were together as the body of Christ just seems to flow off the page and makes me smile every time that I read their story.  Even though I have been a part of this family of God at Woodlawn only a few weeks, I can feel that same spirit of love and joy here when we gather together.  The warmth and care which all of you as a family have shown to me has made me feel at home here almost immediately.  I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for the ways in which you have all shown Christ to me.

I am sure you already know this but, in case you weren't aware, the teenagers at this church are absolutely awesome!  I have really enjoyed getting to know them through our class times and through individual conversations.

We will be going as a group to the Super Bowl party and devotional sponsored by ACU on February 1st.  Meet at the building at 3:30 and be sure to wear your gym shoes and bring a canned good (green beans, Spam, candied yams, etc.) for the price of admission.  Also, encourage the teenagers you see to be involved in LTC this year.  This is a great time for them to use their individual gifts to glorify God and build up the group.

Grab a teenager today and tell them how much they mean to you and to this church!

In Christ,
Brad Sullivan

PRAYER CONCERNS

Ruth Cooke - Hendrick 6117
Richard Davis - Hendrick 5713

Alfred Gadberry fell and injured his left knee.  Nothing is broken so he will stay home and work with a therapist there.

Please continue to pray for Tina Herron who is having difficulties in her pregnancy.  The baby is threatening to come and the due date is still 6 weeks away.

Effie Shelfer has been dismissed from the hospital.  Tests showed that her recent problem was not her heart but an ulcer causing acid reflux.

Please pray for Kin F. Lau in Penang, Malaysia.  He has been having some recurring health problems.

Your prayers are needed for Bill and Deanna Wilson and their family, missionaries in Cologne, Germany.  She is in the last stages of cancer.

THANK YOU NOTES

Dear Members of Woodlawn,
Thank you so much for your visits and prayers.  We cherish and look forward to them.  Lawrence has had two mild strokes and he takes oxygen when he sleeps at night, but overall, he seems to be doing well.  We want to especially thank the Ladies Bible Class for their thoughts, prayers and gifts.  They're appreciated more than you can know.

Your Sister & Brother in Christ,
Lawrence & Mavis Hundley

Dear Ones,
There are so many things I am thankful for and your blessings on me are foremost.  You have blessed me with your love through prayers, oodles of cards, calls and visits.  There are individuals who have brought food continually and you are so appreciated.  The Ladies' class has brought gifts more than once, and the MNFTM group has also blessed us with prepared meals.  You, my beloved, will have your reward in heaven.

Your brother in Him,
Alfred Gadberry

SYMPATHY

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Donahoo family.  Nelson's funeral was held Friday.  Zena remains in Parkland Hospital in Dallas where she underwent another surgery Friday.

We offer condolences to Lavona Macon in the loss of her sister-in-law last week.
