WOODLAWN INVOLVEMENT MINISTRY
Praise God for the New
There has always been something breathtaking and marvelous to me in the character of God: his ability to take that which is forgotten, tattered, and hopeless and make it into a new creation - something with regenerated hope and usefulness.
A struggling student is sparked to life when learning new information. A loving father finds relief at the prospect of a new job. A weakened Christian is filled with courage when she receives new strength over temptations.
As a faith community, we embody the power of Christ to make all things new. We live as ministers of a new covenant (2 Cor. 3:6). We carry with us a message of new life (Acts 5:20; Rom. 6:4). We marvel at the thought of being a new creation (Gal. 6:15) and being a new self (Eph. 4:24; Col. 3:10). We eagerly await a new heaven and new earth (Rev. 21:1).
Ok. here is the big question. As we look forward to a new year of ministry in 2004, in what ways does God need to make us new? As an individual disciple, does God need to refresh your spiritual journey with something new - perhaps a new attitude, a new heart, or maybe even new actions? Thank you for your wonderful servant hearts and desire to be more like Christ. I hope you will join in praying that God will make us to be like new wineskins (Luke 5:33-39), fresh and ever ready to allow God to move us in the direction that he wants us to go.
Because He Makes Us New Every Morning,
Dwayne

THANK YOU NOTES
Dear Woodlawn family,
Our heartfelt thanks for the cards, visits, flowers and prayers while J.T. was in the hospital. We appreciate all your support.
Mary and J. T. Middleton
Dear Woodlawn family,
Merry Christmas! I hope this holiday season finds you all well and joyful to be children of God. I just wanted to send my greetings to my wonderful family at Woodlawn. I also want to say thinks once again for all the love and support you give me! What would I do without you all?! I want you all to know how wonderful it is to get the little encouraging notes from the MNFTM crew! Thank you, guys, so much!
Love, Sarah Bailey
Dear Christians at Woodlawn,
You don't know how much your love has meant to me. God bless all of you.
Reba Waddle
(The above note was received in the office last week from Reba.)
Dear Woodlawn Family,
Thank you so much for the beautiful Bible! It is as special as Woodlawn! It's hart to get into studying it (though it's quite unique with so many study guides) because every name or note I come across brings a happy memory. You will always be my "church home" because you loved me through the most difficult time of my life when I had to say good bye to James - But, oh, how I look forward to being with all of you and James in heaven!! I truly have cherished memories of each of you. I don't think I've forgotten a single smile, hug, tear or laugh. I pray God will continue to bless you as you labor to serve Him. I plan to visit as often as I can - after all, it's halfway between Lubbock and the Metroplex.
Love and God Bless, Vonda Neece
