Scripture
We believe the entire Bible is the divinely inspired, inerrant
revealed Word of God forming a sufficient guide for abundant
living. II Timothy 3:16. As such, the Bible is the basis for
our beliefs, decisions, purposes and vision. It is from the
mind of God through Holy Spirit inspired writers. It is the
truth and final authority for all matters of faith and practice.
Our
God
The divine nature of God is revealed through scripture as
Heavenly Father, Christ as His only begotten Son and the Holy
Spirit as the three-fold essence of God. And God is eternal,
unchangeable, sustainer of all things, and created it all.
Psalms 19
We
believe that Jesus is both God and Christ and that He was
conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
He lived perfectly and in full obedience to the Father, humbling
Himself in the form of a servant, by voluntarily giving his
life on a cross for the atonement of all who obey Him. He
was resurrected by the Spirit of God from the dead, walked
the Earth, was seen by many, and ascended to heaven, while
now resides with God the Father.
We
believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead,
thereby eternal in nature. As eternal in essence and ever
present in the lives of all Christians the Holy Spirit activates
the Word and sanctifies every true believer’s life for
service to God the Father, and His Son Jesus Christ.
Our Relationship with God
Our relationship with God is dependent on our obedience to
His Word and our acceptance of His free gift of salvation
made possible by the death of Christ. That relationship to
God is vouchedsafe by our faith, repentance, confession, and
baptism. We thereby are born again as new creatures to serve
our creator now and forever more. II Corinthians 5:17. Because
of what God did through Jesus, we have a reason for living
today and a hope for eternal life beyond the grave as long
as we obediently serve God. I Peter 1:3-5.
Our
New Life
We believe that God's power on earth is made manifest through
the one church, which is comprised of all the saved in all
places. God alone adds people to his church and he alone defines
its boundaries. We offer our worship, praise, and thanksgiving
to God as His Church to provide focus, fellowship, and encouragement
for Christians while we strive to live in the likeness of
Christ.
Ephesians 5:1-2, “Therefore be imitators of God,
as beloved children, and live in love, as Christ loved us
and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice
to God”.
