2003 Thanksgiving Food, Coat, & Blanket Drive


As a result of sin in the world, we as a church body recognize that we exist within an imperfect world; a world that is constantly hurt by the effects of poverty, hunger, pain, and suffering. We can't take care of everything, but we can make a difference.

We are called to be God's people in a hurting world and represent a God that ultimately concerned about our spiritual needs, but our physical needs as well. We have an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to our surrounding Abilene community by caring for the needs of individuals and families in our annual Thanksgiving Food, Coat, & Blanket Drive.

This year, we have prayerfully set our goal at filling and distributing at least 75 food boxes to people that are in need. Our purpose? To spread Christ's love through our actions and to represent our gracious God to people that are hurting.

Can you help? Below is a list of just a few ways that you can be used to make a difference in the name of Jesus Christ:

Bring needed food items (see list below), coats, or blankets to Woodlawn by Friday, Nov. 19
Come to Woodlawn at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21 ro help collect food
Call the church office (673-6776) if you or someone you know needs a food box
Sign-up to have food picked up from your house on Friday, Nov. 21 by other members
Sign-up to deliver food, coats, and blankets on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 23
