Live as you will be remembered in resemblance of your existence in heaven.  We will miss you greatly, but we will always be affected by your sacrificial contributions to the body of Christ.  Each minute of service and every penny that you contributed made a difference in the Lord’s Church.  Everything you gave and volunteered for our Lord Jesus made a difference to someone in need of God.  We cherished your time and managed your contribution to the full extent of God’s glory.  We thank you for going that extra mile as a servant of God in how you had a little extra money or time and thought of God’s mission in giving.  We are thankful how you showed love for the Church.

You may not have known it at the time, but the money you gave resulted in souls being saved into the arms of Jesus for eternity.  It was probably hard to see how the Church benefited when you volunteered your time last summer in the midst of a busy schedule, but four other people noticed what you did and they drew closer to Jesus.  They didn’t say anything, but I was astounded how they were changed into your example of Jesus.  I see your faith is alive, because your choices continually make a difference.

You probably have forgotten that time when you noticed the weekly contribution below budget week after week and you gave extra money.  I want you to know that you gave the Church confidence to continue its work and through your faith, boosted many other people’s faith.  Your prayers were heard and answered.  I can imagine you being welcomed into heaven and feeling at home as you recognize the voice of Jesus and Him calling you by your first name.

Your kind words opened doors for many in drawing closer to accepting the Gospel as truth.  That time you encouraged the minister happened just at the right time, because although he didn’t show it, he was about to give up under added stress.  That person sitting alone in the auditorium you sat by told me, “That was the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me”.  Thank you for encouraging that deacon, because he felt unappreciated and it was hurting his relationship with Jesus.  Your words to that elder made his tireless work rewarding.  That affirming smile you gave the preacher during the sermon encouraged him to keep up Jesus’ good work, even though he was wearing thin.  People continually prayed and I heard them over and over thanking me for you.  I was there when you felt I was far away.  I saw you give.  I saw you work and do so many things like my Son.  When it is time for you to come home, I will be waiting for you, because I have been waiting a long time to tell you, “Well done, good and faithful servant!  Come walk with me.”

Live as you will be remembered in resemblance of your existence in heaven.

~ Mike Bailey
