Do You Hear Voices?
We all hear them, but the better question is, “Do we know how powerfully they influence us?” Now, before you draw the conclusion that I have gone off the deep end, hear me out. Everything we do on a daily basis is a consideration of experiences and we call on those experiences to make decisions. Perhaps your learning has been derived from many sources such as those that raised you, education, observation, and training. You know what to do and what not to do as you listen to what you have been told in the past. God looked upon his creation and saw us as a lost people that had strayed far from him. He saw us grasping within our creation doing things that were leading us in the opposite direction of his will. God saw us listening to voices from the deep. God saw us listening to voices from sources that gave us temporary satisfaction.
Therefore God gave us a voice to listen from heaven. Matthew 17:5 “While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, ‘This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!’”
Listen for the voice of Jesus as you hear his words from the bible. Hear him from the experiences in the Bible as he healed, talked, prayed, and preached. Hear him on Sundays and Wednesdays at the Woodlawn building. Hear him from the members of the body. Hear Jesus on the cross, by the Jordan, in a boat, walking along the road, and around the Passover setting. Hear Jesus in your home, while you are driving, praying, working, walking, and talking. Most of all hear him in your sin and apathy, because Jesus came to us and is knocking at your door to be the one heard by you.

I would like to thank my church family for all their love, encouraging letters, cards from Monday Night For The Master, support, financial donations, and especially your prayers during my illness. God is answering our prayers. I am getting better day by day. I am thankful for all that you have done and for all that God has done and continues to do in my life and here at the church in Rocksprings.
