It’s Up to Us

Jesus left this cruel world rising above a group of people called his disciples.  His work was finished and he commissioned them to do a work among the lost.  They learned and gained experienced from being like Jesus.  The disciples loved Jesus and Jesus loved them, but God was the only one worthy of his presence.  Jesus is now with his Father in heaven desiring a time when we can be with him to share communion in the fulfillment of the kingdom.  He is waiting for you and me with hopes another will accept the gospel through our effort.  The Savior watches and waits with God, but that is not all he is doing.  Jesus promises that he is with us until the end of the world.

It’s up to us as it was our brothers and sisters who have gone on before us.  God needs us to do his work through the atonement of his Son’s blood.  He asks us to make disciples.  Don’t make it complicated.  The gospel is biblical taught by who you are in the presence of Jesus as you look for disciples.  Jesus went to his disciples.  His disciples did not come to him.  You know someone who needs Jesus as his or her Savior.  Go to them with Jesus at your side and God’s Word in your heart, mind, and soul.  Have courage, be strong, overcome your fears, and speak the very Words of God with the love of the cross.

This is not the first time you have heard our commission and you know what God wants you to do.  We are lacking one important thing – each other.  It is rare that a person obeys the gospel through a single of effort of one person.  Jesus rose above a group of his disciples that partnered with each other and never went out alone.  Find someone to go with, talk to, and then find that person who will become a disciple like you.  “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Matt 18:20
