Our Children Sing

The topic of children’s church during the month of October was about singing.  We discussed the stories from the Bible with reference to singing and how God loves to hear us sing.  Since our children express themselves so well in song, we decided to write one to God.  The question was asked, “What would you like to say to God?”  The kids mentioned all the things God gave us: flowers, fish, grass, trees, friends, family and more.  They also wanted to thank God and Jesus.  We put the words together and developed a first verse and chorus.  We needed one more verse, so we asked the kids, “What do you want to say in the second verse?”  Catherine Clements suggested since we stated what we know in the first verse, let’s talk about what we love to hear.  The kids said singing, prayers, the Bible, and Bible stories.  Here are the words to their song:

We know who gave us flowers, the grass the plants the trees.
We know who gave us fish, lions, giraffes, cats and bees.
We know who gave us friends and our loving families.
And we thank him for these gifts and all the things we see.
Thank you God who lives up above.
Thank you Jesus for showing your love.
Thank you God, we’ll be with you someday.
In heaven your home, its not that far away.
We love to hear your stories and sing about creation.
We love to hear your people give praise in every nation.
We love to hear the voices in prayer raised up to you.
We love to hear the Bible so we know what is true.

The children were so excited to share it with you and we are proud of their talents.  God gives us so much.  May we see His glory and sing praise to Him always.

Karen and Kathy
