WOODLAWN CHILDREN"S MINISTRY
A mother was trying to accomplish everything she needed to do during this hectic season. An important event was her son’s Winter Pageant. The day arrived and she hurried in to find her seat on the cafeteria floor. Her son and his classmates were on stage adorned in fuzzy mittens, red sweaters with bright snowcaps on their heads.
The students on the front row held up large letters, one by one, to spell out the title of the song "CHRISTMAS LOVE." The performance was going smoothly, until a small, quiet girl in the front row held up the letter "M" upside down. She was totally unaware her letter "M" appeared as a "W." Many of the children in the audience were snickering, but the child did not notice, she was proudly holding her "W."
The teachers were quieting their students, and when the last letter was raised all the audience got very quiet. In that instant, they understood the reason why they were there; what the purpose for all the festivities was. For when the last letter was held high, the message read loud and clear:
CHRISTWAS LOVE
And he still is! Let’s not forget in this season of joy, Christ was God’s gift to us. What can we give to him? Ask the children, they will tell you.
In Him for the children,
Karen and Kathy
