The Fruit of the Spirit
We have been studying the Fruit of the Spirit. We were thrilled to hear the adults were being taught the same thing on Sunday as well. What a wonderful bond to learn the scriptures together. Today is the last day for the children, and we would like to take a moment to reflect on what we have shared.
LOVE – Putting others first. Ruth left her home and family because she loved Naomi.
JOY – When Saul found out about Jesus, he let him into his heart and joy filled his heart.
PEACE – Christ endured so much on the cross, but he peacefully gave his life for us.
PATIENCE – Job endured so much; destruction of his family, his health and his friends and his wife were no comfort. He patiently endured his trials and did not give up on God.
KINDNESS –A little boy did not have much, only five loaves and two fishes, but he shared with others too. We can give kindness to others and God blesses and gives us much in return.
GOODNESS – If you take an O out of good you are left with God, so being good is trying to be like God.
FAITHFULNESS –Three men stood up before a king. The king wanted them to bow down to an idol, but they remained faithful to God even though they would be thrown into a fiery pit. You can count on God! Can He count on you?
GENTLENESS – Jesus is our shepherd. He gently leads us along. He protects and guides us back when we get lost.
SELF-CONTROL – Saul tried to kill David, but he never retaliated. He would not hurt God’s anointed. When someone hurts us, can we stop and not hit back?
This is the fruit we presented to our kids. Let us realize we need to consume this fruit and let it strengthen our life to do our Father’s will.
In Him for the children,
Karen and Kathy

THANK YOU NOTES
Dear Woodlawn Congregation,

Dear Woodlawn Family,
Thank you for all the lovely cards, phone calls, visits, and especially for your prayers. Your thoughtfulness means so much to me.
In Love, Emma Snow
I’d like to pass along a compliment to the Woodlawn people from my neighbor. She said the singing was so beautiful at Viva’s funeral, she believed that’s the way it would be in heaven.
Love, Wanda
We may have been detained, but by no means are we deterred. God has called us to a ministry and he will get us there safely in his time and there is nothing, Satan, vehicles, or dirt roads can do to stop God’s plans for us. We know that many prayers have been offered on our behalf and we are genuinely grateful for the armor of love with which we have been surrounded. Please continue these prayers as we still have a long road of recovery ahead of us. May God bless this congregation as you have blessed us.
Aaron, Marisa, and Trey Bailey
