FRIENDS DAY SUNDAY - September 28, 2003

As we make plans for this year’s Friends Sunday, we pray together that God will bless our outreach and send huge numbers of people seeking to learn more about Jesus Christ.  The following are a few details that will help you in making plans to invite your friends:

  • While last year’s Friends Sunday included paying ahead for you and your guests, this year we will take a special collection the week after to meet expenses.  So...invite as many people as you can to come experience Jesus Christ and fellowship with the Woodlawn family.
  • If you’re looking for a way to help out, come to the church on Saturday, Sep. 20 and lend a hand in the annual clean-up of the building and grounds.
  • In order to help in food preparation, please be ready to give a count by next Sunday, Sep. 21 of the many guests you’ll be bringing (including yourself).
  • And finally...please pray for God’s blessing and direction for this big day.

Yours for Him
Dwayne

THANK YOU NOTES

Never before in my life have I felt loved and accepted as I have been here at Woodlawn.  I thank every one of you for being just who you are and for loving me just as I am.  I love you all.
Martha Lee Hancock

Dear Ones,
Thank you for your care and concern during Claud’s illness.  Thank you for the many cards and, especially, for your prayers.  Claud is healing nicely but still has little strength.  I was looking at our Woodlawn Bible today and read notes from you.  That was such a nice thing to do.
We love you, Roberta & Claud Parrish

To the Family of Woodlawn Church of Christ,
I wish to express my gratitude and thankfulness for your attention to my family during the loss of my mother, Bobbie D. McCowan.  Words cannot truly express the emotions felt during our loss.  God bless you all!
Love, Sharon K. Pierce - daughter

PRAYER CONCERNS

Ron Hill - Hendrick 3607, had an emergency heart cath Thursday and 2 stents inserted.  He hopes to go home tomorrow.

Alfred Gadberry had his heart cath last week and no problems were found.

Lawrence Hundley spent hospital time last week undergoing testing.  He awaits results.

The Spann’s daughter, Karen Bordner, had normal gall bladder surgery Thursday.  But had to have further surgery Friday for a complication.

Prayers are requested for Jean Carpenter, a family friend of Flo Henderson, who has West Nile virus in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

OUR SYMPATHY

We offer condolences to Florence Henderson on the loss of her sister-in-law, Imogene Rabb, last week.

And also to Kip Soimo who lost his grandmother in Kenya who was born in 1890 - 113 years ago.
