Woodlawn Youth Ministry

Abilene Mission Work Week 2003
What an incredible week it has been!  The Lord has shown his power, his love, and his faithfulness by allowing this youth group to serve this community in so many ways.  It has been such a blessing to watch these young men and women work so very hard for the Lord.

I am tempted to tell everything that went on during the week, but then there would be nothing left to say this Sunday night.  I want to encourage all of you to join us for Sunday night worship.  During this time, we will reflect on the many things the teenagers did this past week.

I also want to shout out a big "thank you" to everyone who supported this youth group, both financially and spiritually.  Without you this week would have been almost impossible.  May the Lord bless you and keep you always. Because of Christ,
Elijah Godfrey

"...whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must by your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." -- Matthew 20:26-28

Thank You

Moving is not an easy experience!  Twenty-five people came to help us and made it easy.  We especially want to say “thank you” to the youth group.  You were terrific.  We could see Jesus in each of you.  God bless all of you.
Love, Sonny and Eunice

Prayer Concerns

Jaylene Crisman spent Friday in the hospital undergoing tests for irregular heartbeat.

Several need our prayers for upcoming procedures: Dorothy Kemp will have gall bladder surgery at Hendrick Aug. 13.  Her daughter, Glenda White, will have surgery at Abilene Regional on Aug. 5.  Ethel Waldrip’s son, Nathan , will have a treatment, Aug. 6, in Dallas to reduce a tumor on his brain stem.  His sight is in danger because of the closeness of the optical nerve.  And the Sanders’ son, Gary will have eye surgery on Tuesday.

Continue prayers for all our members who have recently been hospitalized and/or are battling cancer and other diseases.  Among the more recent are: Helen Bonnell, Ben Black, Floyd Maddox, and Harold Morgan.
