Help in Time of Need
On the way to the state park last week, the tread came off of the van’s back tire. God was protecting us as Karen pulled safely over to the side. This incident reminded us that God is here in times of trouble.
When we pulled over, we were in need. Aaron Sparks and TJ Meador worked on changing the tire. Cars passed us, but no one stopped. The equipment was difficult to use. The kids in the van were hot and restless. Then an angel of mercy rescued our kids. Trena Shields drove by and stopped to help. She took the children and left us with cool drinks. We continued to work on the tire, informing Brad and Mike about our progress over the phone. With the help of our family, the last lug nut was finally tightened.
God gives us a family to help in time of need. Aaron, TJ, and Trena helped us. Brad and Mike were voices of comfort and reassurance.
Do you remember the times the church helped you? Do you read God’s word in times of trouble and continue to talk to him in prayer? When we have troubles, it is hard to figure out what to do. God gives us tools to cope with problems and helps us understand how to use them. The world does not always take time to help others. Isn’t it wonderful to know that God always has time for us and will send angels of mercy to help us?
Our struggles are like flat tires. The air we breathe is pulled out of our bodies, while we struggle trying to get back up. We need to never forget that God will help and get us back on the road of life. Won’t it be grand to reach that final destination where God will welcome us home? Let’s always remember to be angels of mercy for others until that glorious day comes.
