MISSION FOCUS
A wonderful opportunity for members of this church family to equip themselves for ministry will happen this month.  Each summer we have a Summer Seminar in Missions.  During May 27-29 we are inviting area churches to come and participate with us.  Dan McVey, missionary from Ghana, will present lessons each morning on "Reaching the World of Islam."  In the afternoons there will be classes where you can become equipped in a number of areas:

  • Evangelism
  • The Work of a Missions Committee
  • A Faith Response to Poverty
  • Financial Challenges for Missionaries
  • Managing Stress

Each of three days will begin and end with worship -- worship that will reflect the fact that Christianity is a world religion.  The elders have agreed that the church will pay the registration fee for any of our members who attend!  Meals are available at your own expense.  Check the bulletin board for more information.

So, mission committee members, members wanting to learn about Islam, or wanting to get training in evangelism, as well, make your plans to attend!  Call the Institute for Missions and Evangelism at ACU to register (674-3711).  It would be wonderful to have several Woodlawn members benefit from these three days of Mission Focus.
