Mission News:

Charles Stelding To Help Start New Church In Germany This Summer
On Monday May 12 Charles will begin a six-week "Let's Start Talking" mission effort to work with Mark Martin in Leipzig, Germany.  Martin, an ACU graduate, recently moved there to start a new church with an American couple already living there.  The couple runs a language school.  Accompanying Charles for six weeks is Bill Short of the Minter Lane church and Robert and Mary Harper from Tulsa.  Short teaches foreign languages at McMurray.  The Harpers are retired and have worked overseas in the oil business.  The team of four met at one of the training sessions for "Let's Start Talking" in January and has been training for this work since October.

Charles has been involved in recruiting and training ACU students for this summer's work since Fall of last year.  Twenty-two ACU students will take part helping mission churches in Thailand, Japan, South America, the South Pacific and Europe.

"Let's Start Talking" is under the oversight of the Richland Hills Church of Christ.  Over 80 mission projects are planned for the summer where mission churches offer English conversation to people in their neighborhoods.  Team members meet one-on-one to read the Gospel of Luke to help people improve their English skills.  Our goal is to introduce them to the Bible and the plan of salvation.  We read with Muslims, protestants, Catholics and atheists.  The project helps mission churches meet new people.  When the team leaves after the six weeks, the missionary continues with follow-up.

Dear church family,
This is to let you know that I have moved my mother, Berniece Adams, to Dallas to be near me.  She is in an assisted living facility and is doing well.  Her new address is: Bentley Manor, 3344 Forest Lane, Apt. 132, Dallas, Texas 75234  Her Phone: 972-243-5133  She loves her church family and speaks of you often.  So many of you have been attentive to her during her long period of confinement, and I want you to know that I, as well as the rest of our family, appreciate all you have done for her.
Sincerely, Lorene Mall
