Finished, But Not Completed Until ....

"Brothers, children of Abraham, and you God-fearing Gentiles, it is to us that this message of salvation has been sent." (Acts 13:26)  God has impressed upon us the pierced hands, feet and side of Jesus.  God delivered the message of salvation by immersing us in the blood sacrifice of His crucified Son on the tree.  The Lamb of God remained battered, lonely and lifeless in the tomb for, "it is finished".  Finished, but not completed due to the many lives that would be affected by the impression placed upon all who would obey the sent message.  They did not believe.  They could not comprehend.

He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?  Look at my hands and my feet.  It is I myself!  Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have." (Luke 24:38-39)  This Good News overwhelmed the disciples with unbelief until Jesus bridged the gap of humanity by eating a pieced of broiled fish in their presence.  Jesus remained resurrected from the dead while extending His hand of humanity to a fallen and sinful people.  You believe because of Christ’s impression place in your life.  We have a different perspective of ourselves and others.  We have a resurrected promise lined with the hope of experiencing life and death differently.  II Corinthians 5:16 tells us to not regard anyone from a worldly point of view as we once saw Christ.  We have an opportunity everyday to extend our hand of humanity to others for the purpose and intention of convincing them of the resurrected Christ.  We can do this because we see differently through impressioned convictions from God through the Crucified Christ.  Remind yourself of the possibilities and not conclusions as you expose yourself to the world.  Finished, but not completed in those Christ will raise through your impression on them.

Announcements

Karen & Kathy would like to thank you for your donations of animal pictures.  They now need help in collecting half-gallon size ice cream lids.  This too is for a VBS project, so, for the sake of the kids, eat up!

The Christian Service Center is in need for some things that you may be able to provide for them.  They need towels, pots & pans, box fans, and men’s jeans size 30-32.  Please see the bulletin board in front of the church office for more information.

The Wednesday morning Ladies Bible Class has finished the last lesson for this term.  Watch for an announcement telling when we will meet together to work later this month on materials for VBS.  Also, tell the teachers your ideas for our study this fall.

Congratulations to Kip Soimo who will be graduating from ACU on Saturday and also to Chloe Strickland who will be graduating from LCU!

Senior Sunday will be May 22.  Please turn in your picture boards to Brad by the 18th.

This year, we would like to start collecting can foods for the Thanksgiving Food Drive.  All throughout May, we would like to take a collection of green, yellow, and orange vegetables.  You may leave your donations on the tables in the foyer and they will be stored until November.

Medina Children’s Home will host its annual Appreciation and Awards Banquet on May 1, 2005, at 12:30 pm on the Medina Children’s Home Campus.  We are celebrating our 47th year in Christian Child Care.  A free meal is provided, and everyone is encouraged to bring a guest.  Following the Banquet, there will be an Open House and a tour of campus facilities available.  Medina Children’s Home is located on Hwy 16N between Medina and Kerrville.  For more information or reservation, please call 830-589-2871 or e-mail dbarnes@medinachildrenshome.com
