Woodlawn Children's Ministry

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20

We cannot ignore this command - - it comes straight from Jesus Christ!  According to this verse, our job as Christians is not to just read and understand the truth of God’s Word, but to also put it into practice!  I think that it is very important for us to learn at an early age what Jesus asks of us in these scriptures.

The young people who participated in LTC this weekend certainly learned what this verse was about because it was this year’s theme of the conference.  The young men and women who participated in the conference did a variety of projects relating to the theme of “GO” including: song leading, scripture reading, making a children’s book and scrapbook, artwork, service projects, bulletin boards, daily devotionals, Bible Bowl competition, and teaching young children.  We are so proud of each of them!!!

*Vacation Bible School is just around the corner!  If you would like to help but have not signed up, please see Al Watkins or Karen Griffith.

Church Conversation

First Quarter Budget Report
The budget is a financial reflection of our hopes, dreams and plans for the congregation.  Some of it, like utilities or insurance, aren’t exactly exciting, but there are many budget items which reflect important commitments.  For example, expenditures for worship, fellowship, education, missions, and evangelism show our desire to invest in our life and work together.

The elders would like to inform the congregation that the first quarter budget shows a shortfall of $170.78 per week.  We ask that you reflect on your giving.  It is our prayer, as we do so, that it is a sign that we have tried to walk humbly before God.  He is our provider and we give with that in mind.  We give knowing that everything we have comes from God.  When we have this attitude we recognize that giving is a privilege – a privilege to participate in Gods’ work.  We prayerfully ask that your giving reflects hopes, dreams and plans of our church family.
