Woodlawn Children's Ministry

We are so proud of everyone who went to LTC.  It was a wonderful experience for the adults who went and our youth.  This past Sunday was a joy to watch them do puppets and to have Josh Alkire deliver his speech.  It wasn’t long ago, Josh was sitting in our classroom being taught as a small child.  It is so inspiring to see the way our kids are growing up and becoming fine Christian examples.  We have high hopes of our young ones we have now to do the same thing.

One memory of LTC was the elevator.  It went very fast, but you had to wait a long time for it to come to the floor.  Sometimes you had to go up so you could eventually go down.  There were eight elevators, but they never stopped in a timely manner.  We learned to get down quickly; you had to take the stairs which made us very sore!  The elevator was so crowded; we worried if we would fit, or if there was too much weight for the elevator.

We began to wonder, "Is this how we view prayer?"  Sometimes when we pray we want answers very quickly but we have to wait.  At times the answer to our prayer leads us in a different direction than we anticipated.  We continue to pray often, but why does God not answer us?  Instead of waiting for God’s answer, we try to come up with our own solutions, which are not always the best choice.  We worry God will not answer our prayers or wonder if His answer is the right solution.

At the start of our ministry, we asked God to bring us families, but he brought us children instead.  He is bringing more members into our family, and He is doing it HIS way.  Let us continue our prayers for our congregation, add the prayer of patience to wait for His answers, and then a prayer of thanksgiving for His response.

In Him for the Children,
K & K

AS A THANK YOU

Words cannot express how much we appreciate all of the love and concern that has been extended to our family.  We would like to thank all of the singers, the people who provided and served lunch after the funeral, and everyone who has expressed concern for us.  We especially appreciate all of the prayers for Daddy during his illness and for us as we adjust to life without Daddy here.  We have wonderful memories of Daddy, and we know that one day we will all be together again.
In Christian Love,
The family of Ben Black
June, Lorie, Roy, Christy, & Clayton

Thank you for your kindness.  It will long be remembered.  Thank you for the card, the plant, the visits, the food, and for your prayers.

Woodlawn-
Many things are happening around the building that you may have noticed.  The important aspect of these things getting done is not the work, but the people that are doing the work.  Take a moment and thank these folks for their service to the building.

  • Bill & Delores - donating plants.
  • Lisa Keith - front sign lettering.
  • Steve Keith – playground, baptistery, front hedge, window caulking.
