Woodlawn Youth Ministry

As the people of God we know that God has blessed us with the ability to serve him in many different ways.  The talents He gave us are not for our enjoyment alone; we are to return these gifts from God to him through our acts of service.

What are you good at?  What do you enjoy doing?  The answers to those two questions often indicate where your talents and abilities lie.  How do we discover these gifts?  Some we have known about since we were very small, others we discover through experimentation.

That is why Leadership Training for Christ is so important for the young people of our church.  Many skills that could be developed for the benefit of the church are not ones that are often practiced in our ordinary lives.  Skills such as teaching, public prayer, bulletin board designing, and song leading are not skills that are practiced every day.  Through LTC we can learn about new areas of giftedness in our lives.

What about your gifts and talents?  Are you being a good steward of the skills that God has given you?  No skill or talent is insignificant in the Lord's body.  Jesus tells us in the parable of the talents (Matt. 25:14-30) that when he entrusts us with gifts we are obligated to use them to his glory.  Look closely at your life today.

Are you being faithful to the gifts God has given you?

Brad Sullivan

Dear Woodlawn Family,
Thank you for the lovely plant you sent Missy Tharp when she was in the hospital, and for your prayers for her.  She is doing much better but still has the headaches.  They will be going to Ft. Worth on May 2nd.  Also, thank you for praying for little Tori Rose.  She did great with her day surgery.  There was no problem at all with her oxygen level.  We give God the glory.  Thank you again.
We love each of you,
Gracie Tharp and family
