Woodlawn Youth Ministry

MORE THAN CONQUERORS
Time is flying and the Spring Retreat is upon us.  This weekend, the teenagers will be taking a journey to Hidden Falls Ranch in the Palo Duro Canyon for a time of rest, renewing, and rebuilding.  Our theme is, More Than Conquerors, and that's exactly what we will be discussing.  We will join another youth group for this exciting weekend.  There will be approximately 40 teenagers attending the retreat.  I ask that you keep these teenagers in your prayers as we talk about the 'Power of Satan' and the 'Power of God.'

PRAISE THE LORD!
It wasn't even 24 hours before I had many of you come up to me and give me money for the teenagers.  Your donations mean so much to these teenagers, and I know that by being able to send them on this retreat, God is going to do great things through His Word.  I want to send my greatest gratitude to all of you who have helped out.  It says a lot about a family that takes care of the young ones. God Bless!

"In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."  -Romans 8:37-39

Because of Christ,
Elijah Godfrey

Prayer Concerns

Doyle Allen had a heart procedure Friday at Hendrick Hospital.  He was hoping to return home on Saturday.

Mary Emerson received a pacemaker on Thursday and is recuperating at home.

Thank God for His mercy and prayers that were answered for our sister, Bobbie Chew.  Her test results were negative, showing no cancer present.

Sympathy

Our love and condolences go to Flossie Ashworth and her daughter, Beckie Stacy, on the death of Fred. W. Stacy who died of a sudden heart attack Saturday, March 15, while visiting relatives out-of-town.  His funeral was Tuesday morning in Cross Plains.

And to the Landis children and their families, our deepest sympathy as they experienced so suddenly the death of their mother, Evelyn, last Wednesday morning and then the death of their father, Paul, on Thursday evening.  The double funeral was held yesterday here at Woodlawn.

Announcements

Baptisms: Sarah Bailey reports two more baptisms in Florence, Italy.  Elsie, a Haitian lady from Mexico, and Nikolin, an Albanian living in Italy, both became God's children through baptism after being taught by members of the Avanti Italia team working with the church in Florence.  Sarah and these young people are making an impact for the Lord by seeking out opportunities and making themselves available to people who are willing to listen to the gospel message.  Thank God for their dedication!  To Him be the glory!

Pacesetters Trip:  The Pacesetters are going to Fredericksburg on Tuesday, April 15.  Vans will leave at 6 a.m. and return that evening.  The only cost will be your 3 meals.  Please sign up in the foyer.

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION...
"Without the undergirding of love, the possessor of any conviction becomes obnoxious, and the dogma believed becomes repulsive to the one who disagrees with it.  The early church also lived in an intensely pluralistic culture in which it had to deliver an exclusivistic message, but the believers were distinguished and recognized by their love.  Our Lord Himself proclaimed truth in exclusive terms, terms in which there was no compromise, but He demonstrated that truth by the embodiment of a perfect love.  Being possessed of a conviction is a necessary part of following God, but doing so with love and patience are the necessary handmaidens." - - Ravi Zacharias
