Truth Seeking

We are a curious people.  God created us with a mind that seeks to know and be new everyday.  To know is to accomplish and replenish the stagnancy of normal everyday life.  The power of knowledge enables us to step forward with words of wisdom and act upon our wealth in teaching others.

Good teachers and learners ask questions.  Asking questions broadens the boundaries of our possibilities.  We are intrigued as we think "outside of the box", which expands our vision of the future.

The value of questions is not in the answer we seek, but in the process of learning.  We are simply placed in an intentional environment that is biased for growth, when we humbly ask.

God desires that we ask of Him, in all things.  God desires us to communicate with each other in His Church.  Communication is not just talking.  Communication is listening to the Word of God and each other in the fortification of Christ’s Church.

God loves a humble seeker of Him as we look for Biblical truth in our lives.  God adores a mind that turns to Him with questions.  The greatest value in being curious and asking questions is to understand that we never really have it all figured out.  Wisdom explains that we are life long learners.

God graced us with the opportunity to learn of His Son if we will listen as Jesus describes himself, "gentle and humble in heart".  (Matthew 11:28)

Please read Matthew 17 as God convicted those present that day on the mountain as God vividly spoke these Words in verse five, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.  Listen to him!"  Be renewed by the Word of God.

Church Conversation

  1. I would like to first thank the elders for the time, work, and prayers for the church.  From the presentation, we know what has happened, what is happening, and what, with Gods help, will happen in the future.

  2. Being “Missional”-
    • To become missional, is a way of viewing the church in terms of who we are called to be by God. Going from being a corporate body to understanding our life and being a mission and the most important things are the things that happen in the world.
    • To be missional is to be a church formed in the image of God. Move from being called to being sent. Move from being observers to being participants.
    • To move from being “worship service centered” to being “reign of God centered” in life. Romans 12:1-2

  3. The reasons why we are called to do things here is because we are being driven by the Will of God not by what works.  The beginning point is, what does God want this church to look like for the sake of the lost?  He made His Son a certain way and not as a powerful upper echelon, but as someone for the sake of the lost.

  4. Spiritual Formation - the visible activities talked about cannot be sustained unless we who do them have deep spiritual life.  Only you are responsible for your own spiritual well-being and God needs each and everyone of us.  If we are going to do the things that have been envisioned, we need the core of the church, those with deep spiritual roots.
