CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
God's Blessings in 2003

I love entering a new year! It is a time to make changes, get organized and feel refreshed.  I am excited about what 2003 holds for the Children's Ministry here at Woodlawn.

One of the main things keeping us busy right now is the Leadership Training Conference (LTC).  This is a wonderful way for children of grades 3 through 12 to learn how to be leaders through doing a variety of projects which will be presented at the conference in Dallas.  We are blessed to be taking these nine students to the conference April 18 - 19: Aaron Sparks, Briana Reams, Caitlyn McGuire, Dillon Pruitt, Jeremy Reams, Kendra Reams, Tyler Sparks, Wichere Soeun, and Zelmon Woods, Jr.  They will be participating in song leading, scripture reading, art, daily devotionals, bulletin boards, scrap booking, song writing, and service projects.  Please encourage them and keep them in your prayers as they diligently prepare. I appreciate all the hard work they are doing!

I would like to offer a hearty "thank you" to all the wonderful adults who have volunteered to teach a children's class through the month of March.  God is truly blessing Woodlawn with precious children, and it is great to know they are being taught the truth of God's Word in Sunday and Wednesday night classes.  I really appreciate the dedicated teachers who care greatly about our children, as well as encouraging me.

In Christ,
Amy

PRAYER CONCERNS

Our deepest sympathy is extended to Edith McMillan and her family on the death of Wilburn, better known as our beloved Bo, early last Sunday morning.  His funeral was here at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

We're also saddened at the passing of brother Galton Tarrant Wednesday morning.  His funeral was 11 a.m. Friday.  Galton and Bo McMillan were roommates at Coronado Nursing Center.

Our condolences are offered to the Flatt and Schroeder families.  Bill and Wayland each lost an aunt last week.

John Moreno's heart test results were not great.  He has new medication and will see the doctor again next month.

"Praise God! Dwayne and Julie Hilty are expecting a baby!  Please pray for the health and safety of this baby.
